| Joseph A. Cromer to William
Doan, 2 Oct 1886 |
"This indenture made and entered into between Joseph A. Cromer and
Sily A. Cromer his wife the party of the first part hath bargained and sold
unto Wm Doan the party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of
land
lying on Skeggs Creek where the said Wm Doan now lives and containing
seventy-five acres be the same more or less for and in consideration of two
hundred and twenty five dollars
bounded as follows, to wit:
"Beginning on the bank of Skeggs Creek at the mouth of branch near where
Joseph Cromer lived at that time, then with the branch to the top of the ridge
to a white oak corner, thence with Ingram Renners line to Wm Deatons line to a
chestnut, thence to the branch where Wash McClure now lives, on thence with the
branch to the forks to a beech, thence a straight line to a black oak corner,
thence to the county road at the creek just above the sinks, thence down the
creek with its meanders to the beginning
