Alva Renner and Nathan McClure trade, 6 April 1896

"This deed of conveyance made and entered into this 6th day of April 1896 by and between Alvah Renner and Sarah E. Renner his wife, parties of the first part, and Nathan McClure, party of the second part, all of Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of a farm located on Eagle Creek in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, this day conveyed to first party by second party, the said first parties do hereby bargain, sell, and convey to the said Nathan McClure the following described real estate…on the waters of the west fork of Skeggs Creek bounded and described as follows, to wit:

"Beginning at a spanish oak and hickory standing on a cliff about one mile from the old John Renner house where he once lived and about two poles south from the creek, thence to the top of the bluff to Swinney's line, thence with his line to the mouth of the branch west of his house, thence a southern course about 50 yards to the cross fence…"

This land was originally granted to William Brown in 1842. Alva had inherited from Granderson, who probably bought it in the 1860s.
