Line Creek Baptist Church Deed

Perry and Catherine Bullock gave the church the land where the Line Creek Church Cemetery is located (and where the church building was until it burned in 2001) on 24 Apr 1880. It was on land Perry had purchased from David R. McKinney on 8 Jan 1872, who had bought it (and more) from Holbert McClure on 7 Jul 1857. McKinney's tract included the northwest portion of the Buckner survey.

There is no record of this deed in either the Pulaski or Rockcastle County courthouses, at least under the expected Perry or Catherine Bullock, grantees. It was, however, acknowleged by the Pulaski County clerk, Charles Porch, 12 Jun 1880.

The last part of the deed reads: "But it is understood that if the party of the second part [the church] should ever move the meeting house off of said land & it helt no longer for a meeting house this deed of conveyance is void & the land fall back the party of the first part [Perry and Catherine Bullock] of his heirs. In testimony thereof there hands & seal on this the day & date aforesaid. It shall be for the benyfit of the Baptist Church & no other denomination."
