| Hobert McClure Sr to Jacob
Renner, 27 July 1865 |
"This indenture of bargain and sale made and executed this 27th day
of July, 1865, between Holbert McClure Sr and Rebecca his wife of the one part,
and Jacob Renner of the other part, all of Rockcastle County, Kentucky.
"Witnesseth: That the said party of the first part in consideration of
thirty five dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby ack'd, hath
this day sold and hereby conveyed to the said Jacob Renner a certain boundary
of land lying and being in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on Skeggs Creek and
being a part of the Houston survey and bounded as follows, to wit:
"Beginning at a dogwood tree standing in the hillside outside of
improvements made by said Renner; thence to Vincent Renner's sugartree corner
with his line to the Buckner line; thence with Buckner's line to the old path
on top of a ridge; thence back with the old path to Houston's line; thence with
Houston's line to the beginning

Deed Book J, p. 202
Vincent Renner's corner to the Buckner line was up Long Branch, so this land
must be, too. This could be the "small survey of Jacob Renner with the
Buckner line" that Cyrenius refers to in the September 1865
deed to Solomon
Row. Since this land adjoins other land owned by Jacob up Long Branch, it
is logical to assume this land, along with the referenced improvements, is sold
to Cyrenius, who then sold the land to Row. Jacob had 150 acres on Long Branch
in 1864; as he realized his age, he may have been selling off his property,
since there wasn't enough left to divide between his eleven or so living
children.
