Granderson Renner heirs to Helen Rowe, 1 Oct 1902

"Know all men that we, Angeline Renner, Aaron Renner and Liza Jane Renner his wife, John Renner and Ella Renner his wife, Rencie Price and Wm Price her husband, and Mary Grider, of Rockcastle County, Kentucky, parties of the first part, have this day bargained, sold, and by these present convey unto Helen Rowe, party of the second part, of the same state and county, a certain tract or parcel of land situated and being in the county and state aforesaid on the waters of Skeggs Creek and known as the old Granderson Renner farm on Skeggs Creek, for and in consideration of $1.00, one dollar, in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged.

"Said land is bounded as follows and supposed to contain one hundred and seventy acres be the same more or less, viz:

"Beginning on the south side of Skeggs Creek at the mouth of the branch at a stone corner; thence with the hollow to the head of the hollow a stone corner; thence a straight line to the top of ridge to Deaton's old line to a stone corner; thence with the Deaton line to the Colyer line; thence with the Colyer line to Smith Renner's line; thence with his line to Skeggs Creek past the mouth of the Double Lick Branch; except fifty feet wide from Colyer and Smith Renner corner to the creek which is deed to Colyer by Wm Deaton; thence with and down the creek to the beginning…"

In 1958 Helen Rowe sold the property described above and in 1979 a clarification of the description was made, which follows below. It seems to be a more detailed version, although kind of confusing. It reads as follows:

"Beginning on the south side of Skeggs Creek just the mouth of the branch a stone corner to Mary Grider near an elm tree with a black walnut pointer; thence a southeast course with branch and hollow which is Mary Grider's line to head of hollow a stone corner to Mary Grider near a graveyard on the Mary Grider property; thence a south course a straight line with Mary Grider's line to top of ridge a stone corner to Mary Grider in Robert L. Deaton's old line; thence a southwest course with Robert L. Deaton's old line to W.G. Colyer corner near the Kincaid road a large chesnut standing on the north edge of the road that leads from Grand Renner's home to the Kincaid road corner to Grand Renner's house; thence a northwest course with W.G. Colyer's line to Smith Renner's corner a chesnut oak standing on the north on the butt of a cliff; thence 40 pole east 72 poles to a spotted oak standing about 10 links south of a path; thence north 30 poles crossing the branch with Smith's line 213 in all to Smith Renner's corner, a stake in the middle of Skeggs Creek just the mouth of the Double Lick branch; thence eastward with and down Skeggs Creek to the beginning containing 170 acres more or less.

"There is excepted a 50 foot wide strip which was deeded to Colyer by W.M. Deaton as follows: Beginning on Colyer's and Smith Renner's corner the chestnut oak standing on the north on the butt of the cliff; thence with Smith Renner's line to Smith Renner's corner a stake in the middle of Skeggs Creek, just the mouth of the Double Lick Branch."

The graveyard referred to above is the Price-Renner Cemetery.
