Elisha Whitaker was born 3 May 1862 in Pulaski County to Margaret Whitaker. He
was shot and killed by Hamp Mize (son of
James Mize) on 27
Apr 1901 or 1907 (there is some discrepancy in the death year). He married
Emeline Cornett 2 May 1880 in Rockcastle County. She was the daughter of Hiram
and Cordelia Wilson Cornett. Both are buried at the
Old Buffalo Church
Cemetery.
